Bob Campbell, Chair Tasmania Together Progress Board launches Tasmania Together Revised 2011 plan

Since our last e-news, the Progress Board has been busy working on the production of the new Tasmania Together (Revised 2011) document.  This is the culmination of the Board’s primary focus for the past 18 months – the 10 Year Review of Tasmania Together.  Thank you to all those who attended our launch on 30 March and in particular to Bernie Black (founder of the Brave Foundation) for her presentation.

Just as ‘speak today, shape tomorrow’ was the successful call to action for the 10 Year Review, ‘be informed, get involved’ is the post-review call to action to all Tasmanians.

To help you be better informed about the progress being made towards the community’s goals, we have been busy creating a fresh, new-look online benchmark reporting system.  It uses new graphing software that will be expanded over time to provide a richer information experience for users.  We encourage you to take a look and let us know what you think.

We are also getting ready to launch the 2012 Tasmania Together Youth Challenge in June and look forward to hearing from school aged youth around the State.  The Challenge is a great opportunity for Tasmania’s young people to think about what they want for their future and how they can get involved in making that vision a reality.  There are also great prizes to be won!  Details of this year’s challenge will be available on our website soon.

We have successfully boosted our Twitter followers and are now keen to further develop our Facebook page.  We have launched a photo competition to encourage active conversations amongst Tasmanians through the posting of photos inspired by community priorities in Tasmania Together

Social media communications are a low-cost but effective way of getting our messages out and we encourage you to join the conversations and follow us through these channels.
